Paragon’s website has been designed with accessibility very much in mind because of the large number of supporters and participants with a range of access needs that are involved in our programmes.
Wherever possible we have used contrasting colours in accordance with the WCAG 1.0 and WCAG 2.0 (Web Content Accessibility Guildelines from W3c) to make a better browsing experience for people with impaired vision. We have also used highly readable fonts and styled the text and icons to a comfortable size that eases interactivity on different devices, helping those with motor disabilities to select links more easily.
By grouping related content together where possible on the site, we hope to eliminate excessive navigation and provide jump menus to aid scrolling the pages where relevant.
Access Keys Feature
Browsing a web page is not always done by use of a mouse and we have implemented the use of ‘Access Keys’ so the main pages on the site can be accessed more easily with the keyboard.
To activate the access keys, hold down the ‘alt’ key and the ‘shift’ key. On the main navigation menu of the website you will see numbers appear next to the menu items. Now select the menu item by pressing it’s number key on the keyboard while still holding down the ‘alt’ and ‘shift’ keys.
The access keys are as follows:
- 1 = Home
- 2 = What We Do
- 3 = Get Involved
- 4 = Our Services
- 5 = News & Events
- 6 = Contact Us
We hope you find our site easy to use and if you have any feedback or questions regarding the accesssibility of the site, please contact us.
